Join the Oregon City Building Department at the Oregon City Safety Fair! Kids are encouraged to build free keepsake birdhouses (supplies are limited) while learning about the importance of building permits. This is a great project that kids can take on themselves, or a great chance for parents to bond with their little ones while assisting.

Although the Oregon City Building Division is not responsible for enforcing EPA lead paint removal rules, the safety and health of the city’s citizens is our number one priority. As a public service we would like to raise awareness of the risks of childhood lead-poisoning. If your home or a home you will be working on has been painted prior to 1978, it is likely to have lead-based paint. Oregon DHS reports that nearly 50% of childhood lead poisonings are likely related to repainting and remodeling in the home.
