Oregon City Grant Applications Online

Grant applications for two Oregon City grant programs are now available online to help your group fund a project in the 2010-11 fiscal year. Last year the Oregon City Civic Improvement Trust and the Oregon City-Metro Enhancement Committee awarded a combined $189,945 to groups with projects that were of benefit to the citizens in Oregon City.

The Oregon City Civic Improvement Trust (OCCIT) is a non-profit entity of the City of Oregon City, formed in 1982. The $50,000 available for projects comes from hotel/motel taxes collected and by City ordinance, is designated for projects that promote tourism within the City of Oregon City boundaries. Applications for the OCCIT must be received by 3:00 pm on March 2nd to be considered. The committee will meet March 30th to review applications and award grants.

The Oregon City-Metro Enhancement Committee (OCMEC) provides an excellent opportunity for the City of Oregon City and Metro to support critical neighborhood projects and helps fulfill the community’s vision. The program derives it’s funding from an intergovernmental agreement between Oregon City and Metro and is generated by a $.50 per ton surcharge collected at the Metro South Transfer Station on Washington Street. Projects within Oregon City boundaries will be considered and applications are due by 3:00 p.m. on May 5th. The total amount available for grants this year is $100,000, with $25,000 being a maximum award. The OCMEC committee meets May 25th to review applications.

Information and applications for both grant programs are available online at www.orcity.org or contact Michele Beneville for more information at 503-496-1542 or mbbeneville@ci.oregon-city.or.us.
