Seasonal Utility Maintenance Worker

This is a non-union position with no benefits

The City of Oregon City is seeking qualified candidates that can fill the position of temporary/seasonal Utility Maintenance Specialist.

Salary: $11.00 per hour for non-CDL holders and $14.00 per hour for those that hold a CDL.

Hours: Temporary/Seasonal positions are from 3 to 6 months. Work hours are Monday thru Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Applications received after the filing deadline or without the required forms filled out and signed will not be considered.

Duties will include the successful candidate to be able to perform a variety of skilled and general labor tasks in connection with the construction, repair and maintenance of roadways; water distribution systems, storm drainage and sanitary sewer collection systems, and other related public works infrastructure. Other activities which may be required include: inspecting and cleaning catch basins, field mowing, detention facility maintenance, roadside vegetation control, grounds maintenance, fire hydrant painting, pressure washing, paving laborer, traffic control, truck driving and limited equipment operation.

Requires employees to maintain safe working environments, communicate courteously and cooperatively with other staff and the general public and work with a team or individual situation with minimum supervision. Must have a clean driving record.

Process will consist of screening applicants based on experience and training. The most qualified applicants will be invited to an oral interview. Employment is contingent upon passing a background check.
