Charlie Prosser was born on the Fourth of July in 1904 -- which means that he celebrated his 106th birthday on Sunday! Although he was born in Kansas, he spent the past 70 years in Oregon City. During World War I, he served in the National Guard and was stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas. While there, he and his brother were well-acquainted with another Kansas family: Dwight Eisenhower and his father Sam. Charlie says his favorite US President (and also 'the best') was President Eisenhower.
Mayor Norris delivered a Birthday Letter and bag of Oregon City memorablia to Charlie. He is wearing his new OC cap in the photo.
Happy Birthday, Charlie!
