City of Oregon City, Oregon Parks and Recreation DRAFT Master Plan Update
The Oregon City Parks and Recreation Draft Master Plan Update is intended to help meet the needs of current and future residents by positioning Oregon City to build on the community’s unique parks and recreation assets and identify new opportunities. The citizen driven plan establishes a clear direction to guide city staff, advisory committees, and elected officials in their efforts to enhance the community’s parks and recreation programs, services and facilities.
Although the Community Services Department is also responsible for the library, the Master Plan Update specifically does not address this portion of department operations and is focused strictly on parks and recreation issues.
The City of Oregon City has been working on updating its Parks and Recreation Master Plan for the past 18 months, resulting in a draft "5-Year Vision Implementation Plan". In an effort to ensure maximum public/community input opportunities, the Oregon City Commission has extended the public input period prior to its final adoption of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update. Pending formal action at the March 19 City Commission meeting, the public hearing will be continued until April 16, 2008 to allow additional time for public comment on the Plan. Your comments/input on the Plan are encouraged. You may submit your comments by filling out this form, or contacting Scott Archer, Community Services Director at 503-657-0891. The public is also invited to attend the April 16th City Commission public hearing for adoption of the plan.
