SWAT

While all police work can be inherently dangerous, some situations require the deployment of law enforcement officers who specialize in the most dangerous of situations. The SWAT team ensures that hostile or dangerous situations are resolved as safely as possible.

The Oregon City Police Department has two officers on the Clackamas County Interagency SWAT team. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office has had a SWAT team for several years and recently opened their team to members of municipal agencies. It is a great opportunity for our department to have officers that work and train with the SWAT team. It is also a great opportunity for the Oregon City Police Department to offer manpower to a team that has been such a helpful asset for so many years.

The officers on the team went through a vigorous selection and testing process. The dedicate many hours to training every year and benefit the police department by bringing that training back and sharing it with other officers. These highly trained officers are also a vital asset and reference during patrol operations.
